Government and public health partnerships in Nigeria

Much of Nigeria’s demand for diagnostics and medical technology runs through government and donor-funded programmes. Working with them well means understanding public priorities, procurement rules and the partners who fund and implement programmes, and building trust over years, not single sales.

Public health experience

As Public Health Development Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, I enabled the development of public health in West and Central Africa through partnerships: leading relationships with governments, international organisations and private partners to expand access to diagnostics and medical technologies in low- and middle-income countries. At Fujifilm, I delivered more than 100 AI-enabled digital X-ray systems for tuberculosis screening. Government contracting and public health are among my core skills.

How I help

  • Partnership strategy: mapping the ministries, agencies, programmes, funders and implementing partners relevant to your solution, and where you can genuinely add value.
  • Government contracting: preparing for public procurement and tenders, and the documentation and relationships they require.
  • Donor and NGO engagement: positioning solutions for programmes funded by international organisations and foundations.
  • Programme delivery: making sure equipment, training and service reach the facilities that need them, so programmes succeed and partnerships last.

What I care about

Equitable access. My work has focused on bringing quality diagnostics to underserved populations, and I serve on the Board of Advisors of the TEK Foundation. Partnerships last when everyone at the table, from government to funder to supplier, sees the patient outcome they are working towards.

Questions

Do you help companies respond to government health tenders in Nigeria?

Yes. Government contracting is one of my core skills, and I help companies understand requirements, prepare and build the relationships that public-sector work depends on.

Have you worked with international organisations and NGOs?

Yes. At Thermo Fisher Scientific I worked with NGOs, governments and funding agencies to expand access to diagnostics across English-speaking West Africa.

Which disease areas have you worked in?

Tuberculosis screening with AI-enabled digital X-ray is a major part of my work. More broadly, I have worked across diagnostics, laboratory and imaging solutions for public health.
